Colin and Ross reach their first ATP500 semi final

Colin and Ross continued their recent good form with an impressive win in the quarter finals against number 3 sees Cermak and Polasek.  After cruising through the first set 6-3 with two breaks they had momentum in their favour.  However one loose game at the start of the 2nd set gave the advantage to their opponents, and the British pair were unable to break back, losing the 2nd set 6-3.

Colin and Ross got off to a flying start in the Championship tie break, winning the first 5 points.  After that they did not look back, winning the breaker 10-3.

On the Saturday Colin and Ross faced in the in form pair of Dodig and Melo in their first ATP500 semi final.  In the first set the British pair struggled with their return of serve, and also got broken early on, losing the first set 6-3.  The second set proved a much tighter affair, and went all the way to a tie break, which their opponents won 7-6 (7-4).

Fleming and Hutchins were broken just once in the match, during the first set, but were unable to engineer any break points of their own in a tight tie.

To emphasise the closeness of the match, the British pair won 48% of the total points on offer.

The British pair move on to Delray Beach for an ATP250.
