After flying back from the successful US Open, Colin met up with team mates at Glasgow on Monday to put in a weeks training before the crucial Davis Cup tie with Hungary. Victory here would mean GB would enter Group 1, and give them a shot at making their way to the World Group.
Again Britain had a strong team for Davis Cup, with Andy Murray, James Ward and Colin’s doubles partner Ross Hutchins making the team.
After day 1 Britain were in a commanding position after Andy Murray won in straight sets, and James Ward won his singles in 4 sets.
This meant Colin and Ross just had to win their doubles on the Saturday to ensure promotion.
